How we can help

Government needs to deliver for you. As your MP I am here to help, but I should usually be the last point of contact, not the first.

Most issues get resolved faster when you go straight to the right authority. The guide below shows who to contact for the most common issues across Rugby, Bulkington and the Villages.

If this is an emergency

If you feel this is an emergency, or that you or someone else is in immediate danger, always call 999. This page is for non-urgent casework and public service enquiries, and not for emergencies.

Who can help with your issue?

Know the right authority to contact first.

Rugby Borough Council

  • Bin collection problems
  • Planning application issues
  • Parks maintenance concerns
  • Homelessness

Tip: for local issues with bins, parks, planning or roads, your Ward Councillor is often the right first call.

When to contact my office.

  • Authorities haven’t responded after a reasonable time.
  • You’ve tried the routes above and got nowhere.
  • Your issue has bounced between departments.
  • You need Parliamentary pressure brought to bear.
Honest about my role: MPs have no direct control over councils, the police, the NHS or local services. I can advocate, escalate and put your issue in front of ministers when standard routes fail.
What to expect

Our response times.

We come back to you quickly. The typical timeline:

  • Urgent enquiries: within one week.
  • Other casework: within two weeks.
  • Policy enquiries: within three weeks.

My office is not an emergency service. Phones and email are only routinely monitored during office hours. In an emergency, always call 999.

To help us help you

When you contact us, please include your full name, postal address and any relevant reference numbers.

Parliamentary rules mean I can only help people who live in my constituency. To find out who your MP is, please enter your postcode at members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP.

A note on emails

If you’ve copied me into an email addressed to someone else, please note this won’t elicit a response. For assistance, please address me directly. Enquiries from organisations are addressed when they involve a constituent in my area. Communications containing abusive language or harassment will not receive a response.

Please also check the address: my email ends .uk, not .co.uk. Emails sent to the wrong domain never reach my office.

Your voice matters. Let’s make it heard.
