Working with you for real change.

01 / Healthcare

Better healthcare for Rugby.

Campaigning for a Doctor-led Urgent Treatment Centre at the Hospital of St Cross, so more patients can be treated locally without travelling to Coventry.

  • Raised this in Parliament, presented a petition and taken it directly to Ministers.
  • NHS waiting lists at Coventry & Warwickshire Trust down by 3,632 since the election.
  • Ambulances now reach life-threatening emergencies 14 minutes faster.

02 / Young people

The best start in life.

Fighting for more support for children and families in our constituency, from free meals to scrapping the two-child cap.

  • Two-child benefit cap scrapped, lifting 2,020 children in Rugby out of poverty.
  • Free breakfast clubs now running in Bulkington and Wolvey.
  • Minimum wage increased, boosting pay for 2,900 local workers and their families.
  • Pushing for a Youth Hub in Rugby: a dedicated space offering CV support, wellbeing advice, employment guidance and skills training.
  • Written to the Prime Minister calling for a Minister for Younger and Future Generations, to weigh every law and policy for its effect on young people.
  • Campaigning for a Youth Triple Lock: free bus travel, maintenance loans rising above inflation, and a youth voucher scheme.

03 / Roads

Safer roads for everyone.

Pushing for safer roads across the constituency, from national policy to local fixes.

  • Met the Road Safety Minister to raise local concerns.
  • Helped set up a Road Safety Investigation Branch.
  • Secured a major win in my campaign to improve the lighting in the Mill Road Tunnel.

Let me know about road safety issues in your area. I want to make sure the government and local authorities are doing all they can.

04 / Creative arts

Creative arts for all.

Campaigning for the creative arts to be given greater prominence, locally and nationally.

  • Backing plans for a ‘cultural quarter’ in the Gas Street car park area.
  • Working with local, regional and national artists and organisations to boost the creative arts, from schools and teacher training to venues and export opportunities.
  • Running a campaign in Parliament, backed by a petition, for creative arts bulletins on broadcast news.

What does an MP do?

Representing you, locally and in Westminster.

I live in Rugby but when Parliament is sitting, I’m required to be in London for three or four days a week. The rest of the week I’m in the constituency: on doorsteps, at surgeries, with local organisations. Working for you.

Find out more about the role of an MP on Parliament’s website.

  • Speaking up for you

Representing our community in the House of Commons. Making sure your concerns are heard in debates and decisions.

  • Shaping laws

Voting on laws and policies, pushing for what serves Rugby best.

  • Listening and talking with you

Knocking on doors most weeks, and holding advice surgeries across the constituency where you can raise concerns.

  • Addressing local issues

Raising housing, healthcare and transport concerns with ministers and local councils.

  • Helping with casework

My team and I work to resolve individual concerns. If we can’t, we point you to who can.

  • Engaging the community

Visiting schools, charities, businesses and public service organisations across Rugby, Bulkington and the Villages.

MPs are usually the last point of contact, not the first. Most issues get resolved faster when you go straight to the right authority.
